My server has no mod pack things on it

I have recently created a ftb the server for the mindcrack pack and when i log on to it when i try to spawn items i get a message saying "Error: Unknown item id ...", none of the structures are generated from the mod pack such as volcanos either. My server is basically vanilla mc except mod items still come up on NEI and creative. I have tryed reinstalling my launcher and setting up my server using different mod packs but i had the same issues on each mod pack. Somebody please help, much appreciated
