First attempt at a multifarm. I read up on it, watched a video, did everything I'm supposed to (I think).
This all-manual multifarm hydrates dirt that I put up, but it doesn't seem to do anything else. It even planted some carrots, which the forestry web page says that manual farms won't do:

I have power, via a redstone cell stuck directly to the farm gear. I have an aqueous feeding it water. I have an intricate circuit board with 4 different crop types (see screenshot) plugged in. I tried putting the crops in the farm inventory and nothing happened (except the carrot planting, which was on the wrong side of the farm, incidentally... they were planted on the side for... I forget, something else).
Then I took out all the seeds/plants, planted everything manually, and waited... and waited... and got some bone meal and grew a couple of wheat with it. Still nothing. What am I missing? I even tore it down once and rebuilt it.
The only thing I can think of is that the farm "platform" is too high. But it's on the topmost layer, which according to the diagram should be ok. That does however mean that the dirt/sand is *above* the topmost layer... could that be it? If so why was it able to plant the carrots... weird.
