The thing that @#!*% me off about Ogres is they can see through walls. If I could do that it would be considered cheating. Should be the same for mobs.

How about a mod that chops down the entire tree and has items in the mod to process the wood. This would fit both camps, I think. Personally, I use Treecapitator for the very reason it was designed, chop trees and save time in the early game. When I spawn a new world I want to get to the good stuff and chopping down trees isn't what I want to spend time on. The game has various ways to easily do everything else so why not for this. Yeah, yeah, Axe of the Stream is a great item but it's not usable at the early game stage. If I knew how to code I'd build my mod suggestion. Actually, I'll just learn how to code and make it.
What would really be great is if Treecapitator worked like Axe of the Stream, but with all axes. This would be great for large trees, as well as quell the kids who bring up the "bringing down a whole tree with 1 click is so OP lololololol". It'd still take the durability and time of an ax, but bring the tree down with it. All that's left is the people who try to claim that making dirt pillars and breaking the floating blocks is fun. I'm sure.

Yeah, if treecapitator worked this way it would be better. It still would'nt be added to FTB, because it would surely replace the axe of the stream. I think it's really silly to not include an obviously excellent mod because it makes 1 item from another mod "useless". In either case I'll keep adding mods to FTB to match my game play as everyone else will.

I have never had the Axe of the Stream work for me, so I would add Treefeller if I needed a lot of wood but didn't want to automate the harvest/planting of it. Which, thankfully, I have yet to need a lot of wood. I don't like building things out of wood. Too often I've burnt down my houses trying to light my nether portal during lag spikes. One misclick and suddenly the whole forest is on fire.

Actually I'd add Minions again. Because I love having Minions. Though they haven't always worked on all my trees. Bit of a shame, that. But they save me a lot of time and save my tools a lot of wear'n'tear.

Does treefeller work with universal electricity tools or the advanced chainsaw out of the box? if so I'll abandon treecap with the quickness....lol

No idea. I merely know it's SMP Compatible and has more configuration options.
Well, I somewhat recall(from one guy's spotlight) that it works out of the box on vanilla trees with modded axes and on modded trees with vanilla axe, and there is a config option to set it to use durability for each block broken or for only one use(one per block was kind of buggy with electric tools in the past as it could break the tool).

Whether or not this is all correct I don't know, but that's likely covered in the OP for the mod.

Personally I'd like to see a mod that makes a tree fall down when you axe it nicely. Instead of just turning into a bunch of items, all the logs and leaves should get temporarily affected by gravity and fall (almost) straight down, turning the tree into a pile of logs and leaves.
This way you still have to chop up all the logs without having to clean up floating branches. At the same time, chopping down a huge tree would impose a bit of danger. A bit of a delay before falling would be welcome of course.

This leaves the Axe of the Stream as a valid item, too, so everybody wins.

I'm starting to think that Tinker's Construct is never going to leave my packs ever again. I don't care if it dramatically lowers the cost of tools; I think I love it.
