My japanese castle is coming along nicely

Unless he tears the entire thing down, it's still going to be a box in a box, boxes are boring and bland, hence my comment.
If square mono-material boxes turns you on, good for you, they don't do it for me.

I need to make the slope more shallow, it's barely noticeable. It's currently one cover thicker on each level, I think I need to make it one panel per level i.e. 1 block in 4 rather than 1 block in 8. Shame you can't have half-panels.

Don't assume the end result of a build will be boring based on its beginning stages. The architecture styles he is emulating in this build are essentially boxes upon boxes and the end result is not boring. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_castle

Uhhh, I guess you're right! It totally isn't Japanese style, but I like it so it's now an "oriental mix" castle.
