My Feed the Beast wont load for any mod packs

Hello this is a technical issue i have never had before and i was wondering if this was a normal occurrence. everything i have is regular and im running windows vista. whenever i laod a mod pack is gives me this error message: [06:22:17] [ERROR] DatatypeConverter.parseBase64Binary:-1->MinecraftLauncher.main:217: Unhandled error launching minecraft: java.lang.NullPointerException

i used to get that then when i reinstalled no modpacks load at all it just says "searching for mod packs"
