im playing Direwolf20s 1.6.4 modpack lets play with my own World.

my old World worked fine but it crashed out & disapeared... dunno what happend.

But i made a new World and its running swimmingly but ive encountered an oddity that wasnt in the old World, ive got multiple versions of the same ores. whats up with that? can i configure them gone? or do i need to restart a new World again?

Are we talking about the actual ore or the ingots? The ingot's type is based off of how you prepare the ingot. So if you use a pulverizer you will get a TE ingot. If you use a maerator you will get a IC2 ingot. If you are actually referring to the ores, that should not be happening as the packs configs should have disabled those ores in favor of Thermal Expansion's(?) version. Did you make any changes to the configs or not use the configs when they downloaded? Try using the Universal configs that came with the packs.

I do not play with the packs I keep a custom one with only a few mods in it. The ingots should be interchangeable in the recipes. I believe that the forge lexicon can change them to the correct version or at least same version if you wish. Though you might have a higher than usual yield of ore as you should only be getting one type of each ore. Hopefully someone with more experience with the packs will stop by.

FTB makes the Thermal Expansion ores the default ones. I don't know what happened, but it should be fine. You'll just have to add all the different types of ores for automation, but in the end you'll still be able to use IC2 Copper for TE recipes and vice versa.

Alternatively you can have them converted in an Ore-Dictionary device, like the MFR Unifier or the Mariculture Dictionary (I think it's called that)

Which versions of ore are you seeing? As others said TE is primary and I thought all the others were disabled by default unless they are unique/not TE (like uranium)
