Issue #1. Greater than 25% of the time, the launcher will fail to ...populate?? In other words, the window is visible, but there is nothing IN the window. (I hope I explained that well enough)

Issue #2. On the occasions that the launcher loads successfully, I click the launch button to load a mod pack, I will se a progress bar for "setting up the MC environment". Immediately after that, the game will crash before any loading screens appear. Sometimes I don't even get an automatic crash report.

I figure the problem may be an old launcher/modpack, or it could be something completely different. Please help! My friends are counting on me! They cannot last much longer by themselves. Oh no! They are being overrun!...meh, jk about that last bit. But please help. ;]

Okay, I don't know what 'pastebin' is, so I'll assume that I just need to click the button that says 'upload a file'. If I am incorrect, I trust you will let me know.

Minecraft Version: 1.4.7
Operating System: Mac OS X (x86_64) version 10.9
Java Version: 1.7.0_45
LWJGL: 2.4.2
Your problem is an old one. Please look here for help with OS Maverick.

Edit: Do note that this only applies to pre 1.6.4 packs as the minecraft 1.6.4 comes with lwjgl version 2.9.0

I do not have OS Maverick. I also do not use a Minecraft launcher to launch FTB, as per the link http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/inde...lack-screen-does-not-load-after-splash-screen . I use the FTB launcher if that is what is meant. I have had no issues with vanilla Minecraft, only modded. Im not sure if that changes the solution, is there something else I can do?
According to your log you have OS 10.9 meaning you have Maverick. That aside, I state again that if you wish to use a pre 1.6.4 pack you MUST update the version of lwjgl inside the modpack folder. That is a must for Mac users who wish to use a 1.4.7 and 1.5.2 pack, there is no way around it. This guide will tell you how to do it. The only change is to where the files are located. For the FTB packs the minecraft folder is inside the mod pack folder, the files are the same.

The reason it works in vanilla is because the 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 packs have lwjgl version of 2.9.0 Each FTB pack has its own version of lwjgl. All the older versions of packs and minecraft uses version 2.4.2 which does not work with Java 7 and Mac.

Well, that was derby of me - you know more about my machine than I do. I'd like to clarify something - Iv been trying to run a 1.4.7 mod pack with poor results. Are there any updates to the launcher or the mod pack?

Nope. The 1.4.7 packs are not going to get any further updates and the launcher gets updates when ever it can. However as I pointed out the launcher is not your problem when trying to use a 1.4.7 pack.
