Hello everyone.

I'm here to ask some help on this stupid bug that I can't find out how to fix on the web.

I was working to rebuild my base in my server. I was destroying ME drives, moved them to a bag because can't contain in my container, and served kicked me off, and now, everytime I try to log in back, it give me this error:

"Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.io.IOException: Packet was larger than I expected, found 33380 bytes extra whilst reading packet 48".

I tried to search on the web, and what I found out is only that can be a bug made by moving ME Drives into a golden bag, but no solution...

Now, I'm here to ask you if you can help me with this... What can I do to resolve this without have to restore save or delete my inventory?

Thank you so much.

Your bag holds too much information (the information stored in the drives)... If I am understanding that crash correctly.

What bag is it? That may help some more, because some bags are "better coded" than others

He mentioned that it is a golden bag of holding.

How many disks are in your inventory? If there is more than one, you can use a tool like NBT Explorer to (first back up your character), delete half your inventory. Log in and stash inventory in chest. log out and restore backup and delete the other half. Log in. And be careful to not do that again.

If your disks are stored "in a bag", then hopefully its structure is NBT based so you can use NBT Explorer to delete half its contents.

Otherwise your options are as listed.

I destroyed 3 ME drives, where 2 were full of drives, and one have half. At first, I destroyed it, and worked out. But, when I moved everything to the golden bag of holding, other ones was looted by my character and game crashed. With NBT Explorer, Can I Save everything? Or almost, Disks that are filled?

NBT Explorer will let you browse and edit the NBT data of your character while offline. Your ability to save your character, and your drives, depends completely on how easy the mods in use make it to selectively prune out some of the drives to bring your character data back under whatever absolute limit minecraft imposes. Given you have backups available, it should be possible to repeat the pruning process as many times as necessary, logging in after each edit to save the contents in a chest until you have saved them all.
Again, all assuming the data structures are amenable to being edited.

Okay, so...

I did how @Chris Becke told me, and worked, I tried by deleting the golden bag, and I could log on but...

At the end of everything, with the crash, I loose a lot of my Disks that were on the floor, so I decided to restore my Backup of this night, I will make some things, but will be better than loose all my items...

Thanks so much anyway for the help!
