Moving Essence Through Conduits

To put it simply, how? I need to get essence from my light nexus to my altar, but it doesn't seem to work. From what I understand, I need to right lick the nexus, then the conduit, then the conduit again, and finally the altar, but when I flip the altar switch, the conduit gains a ton of deficit and turns read, a bad sign to be sure. I'm sure it's within range, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried putting those deficit absorbers next to your conduits? The crafting altar pulls pretty hard which is likely building up deficit too quickly in your conduit.

You can put Charge focus in the conduits and that lowers deficit when transferring power.

Is your conduit within ten blocks of the nexus and altar?

Seems like the deficit was the problem, some foci fixed it.
