Having no Thaumcraft is still a large void to fill, but otherwise I was able to do everything I needed to do without much extra hassle. Really though, that's more of a modern landscape issue than one specific to Beyond. I had doubts that the magic scene would be worthwhile after TC disappeared, but Sprout has provided me with a number of options to test (first time dabbling in Ars Magica, for instance), so I'll have a better idea of the landscape once I've progressed further in each.
