Biomes o' Plenty is cool and all but its missing flat biomes like meadows from EBXL.! :(
Is there any way to make biomes more flat?

You can ofcourse just turn off any hilly biomes you dislike in the configs, but I don't think there is like a WorldHeight option. But hey, there might have been one added :)

I'm not sure, but I've heard of people messing with the configs to disable a bunch of biomes or just turn off BoP, generate a world, and then after they've sorta explored the area around their spawn and "created" a swath of vanilla biomes, they turn on BoP or re-jigger the configs to re-enable the test of the biomes so that any areas explored later will contain the full variety of biomes.

I've never done this, and I'm not 100% clear on the details, but perhaps someone with more experience than I can shed some light on how this works and to what extent.

I have to agree that, as someone who's not terribly creative at building and likes a flat(ish) land, Biomes O Plenty really doesn't suite my needs and the few biomes that it has like that are too rare and take a lot of time to find in some worlds. ExtraBiomesXL was pretty nice in this respect as I could always find a biome I'd like building in fairly easily.

That's always a possibility... if you want awful chunk boundries where it's changed, that is.

You can always, you know, install ExtraBiomesXL too ;)

EBXL + New Dawn terrain gen. New Dawn, although last time I looked the mod author hadn't found a way to do rivers, is flatter - a much smoother taste... no, wait, terrain. That's my tea.
Oh, New Dawn also has built in support for Thaumcraft's biomes, and EBXL makes use of New Dawn's API to have it's own biomes inserted into the mix.

I've only tried it once but the canyon biomes (for example) don't come out of the ground and up in 75-block sheer walls with atg installed.

sort of on topic with BOP i also want a weight system added so one biome has better chance to spawn over another

also a count system so if dunes spawned once it looses weight to give other biomes a better chance to spawn now

These would be very nice, actually.
The second one would be kind of hard to do IMO, but I'm no programer, so I can't speak about actual difficulty for programing.

At the very least, have biome groups wherein the groups have an equal chance to spawn, then the individual biome is randomly selected. I have to turn some nice biomes off just because I dont want them to domoniate the overworld landscape.

What I would REALLY like is to be able to assign biomes based on their mean coordinates. For instance deserty stuff in the +,- region, and icey in -,+ region, moutainous in +,+ region, and flat and greeny in the -,- region. Would make finding some stuff a little more directed. Especially for those of us who like to setup world borders.
