More efficient chunk loading

So, on our server we're trying to set up a power plant. We already have the supply (mostly water + solar) and have the plant itself loaded with spot loaders.

but it's really, really far away from anybody's base. The cable reaches just fine, and power is sent... when the entire line is loaded. at current count, with only one base connected, we need over 50 chunks loaded. fifty!!!

is there any way to just load the wire, without needing that huge area eating our server capacity?

i am assuming you are generating EU due to solar panels so you could convert to MJ (there are many means to do this) and tesseract or gregtech has the IDSU which is like an ender chest for EU

Another possibility is using mystcraft portals with railcraft MFSU carts. I'm not sure if you'd have to cheat a bit to make them intralinking or if they'd even need to be but yeah. Could always just send the carts to another dimension then back to the overworld though.
