ive seen this place in my console and on the forums a bit, but what IS the moo moo farm and how do you get there?

It's part of Ars Magica 2...you get there by placing an Evil Looking Book in the Keystone Receptacle of a Gateway. The structure for a gateway can be found in the Arcane Compendium.
If you make a chalk it should unlock it. If that doesn't, make a man a battery. Any essence producing/supplying item/blocks should unlock almost all of the essence consumers.

Make sure when you go there that you bring with you enough materials to make a new gateway and bring a Mana Battery because otherwise you'll be stuck there. Or, bring a linking book from Mystcraft or materials to make a Nether Portal. And the Moo Moo Cows are very tough to kill.
I guess the problem is that if the mod was a standalone, then the mobs would be hard, but in a pack like FTB where there are just so many different weapons and armor, the difficulty level just decreases. Bad thing about modpacks. :/
Well, the Diablo II Secret Cow Level was boring as heck. The only reason people went was the drops and pretty much everyone - myself included - always had a Cow Level build that was nothing but AoE and cheezy mechanics that was never used anywhere else. Heck, I think they nerfed the Necro's corpse explosion (CE) just because of the Secret Cow Level. Sad.
I got tired of standing around being the one who finally went, yet 30 seconds later while in the process of getting the leg, someone would always say "Who haz teh leg ?!?" without bothering to check to see if anyone was in the process of getting said leg.
That, and someone 2-boxing with a level 1 rushed new character.

The hell cows are actually pretty tough even with FTB weapons and armor. Basically the only possible way to kill them as fast as they come at you is the firestorm spell (silver unlock) from the same mod.
The only sane reason to go to that place is to kill enough hell cows to fill a phylactery for a summon spell.
