Monster pack world gen and mobs?

I started up a server from home for myself and a couple buds. Last night 2 of us were on and I noticed there wasn't much if any mobs spawning. Now i have every thing enabled under the monster pack except for OPIS and Reisminimap. I know the one Lycantes mobs or whatever, but i was wondering if it messes with the normal spawning of mobs. There was plenty non hostile mobs and new ones im assuming are from that pack i mentioned. I came across 1 zombie in about 2 hrs of play time. Also what hostile mobs i was running into was pretty low, even in the caves. Now i do have the difficulty on 3 which i thought was for hard, not sure if that messing with it. The other thing im being bugged by is the caves seem to be nothing but dead ends everywhere. I am using BoP and have it enable for when the server generates the world. I thought that was something that was changed a while back where caves would go on for a long way. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Before i forget i have a couple other mods added, Ars Magica 2, Hats, InfiniBow, Morph, Plugins for Forestry, and Translocator.
 
I did see there is alot of red squares with question marks on the minimap after i messed with the settings. I havent seen any hecates though. I think is what is happening is there is alot of mobs spawning in caves. But how small caves are showing up with all these dead ends is starting to bug me more.
 
I did a lot of testing with spawn rates in the Monster pack and found out its an issue with the version of Lycanite's Mobs in the default Monster pack. If you update that mod it should fix it (and you can also turn down the spawn rate of Lycanite mobs in the configs to further tweak the spawning). Awesome, thanks for the reply. I dont really want to make them more rare just so i can get all the other stuff to spawn. I also noticed when i hit F7 the grid outlines are always yellow. I never see any red even at night. Not sure why that is. I thought it should be red unless there is a light. I might be mistaken though.
 
Yellow means mobs can spawn only at night, red means mobs can spawn at any time of day. Most of the overworld surface should be yellow

The issue is most likely Lycan mobs. There is an issue with mobs not despawning with the version in monster 1.1.1. Update that mod to the latest version should fix it.
 
Using the most current version fixed the issue. Now there is mobs everywhere. Which is cool, but some of the new mobs make alot of annoying sounds like the large rat looking thing.
 
Yeah the number of Lycanite mobs is overwhelming, that's why I tweaked it to make them a little more rare to allow more vanilla mobs to spawn. To do that, find your LycanitesMobs.cfg file (in the config/LycanitesMobs directory on your server/client) and find the "Spawn Control" section and find this line: 'D:"Spawn Weight Scale"='. The default should be "1.0" but you can change that to reduce the amount of spawns. I have mine set at "0.2" which makes the Lycanite's Mobs a bit rarer than the regular mobs.

I cannot stand Lycanite's Mobs,(no offence) they are just too OP and spawn ever so commonly.
When I did use it (for a short period of time before I disabled it due to rage) I would always see those fish things that swim really fast and kobolds. Vanilla mobs were rare.
