On my server, which is the monster pack, i want to have linking books around the world for portals.
anyways the mystcraft for some reason does not work, i cant use the book in general and it wont work in the portal either...does anyone know how to like enable mystcraft or something, to make it work

To have linking books work within the same world, they have to have the "interlinking" trait on the link page. This is achieved by adding ingredients to the ink before you make the page. I believe gold dust is one of the better options for doing this.

Make a hub room in the nether or an age that you have already created. Before the last server wipe we transformed a nether fortress into a gate fortress. The hallways were lined with portals. It also makes it easier so that you only have to have 1 portal/ book stand at your own base for travel reasons.
