anyone else noticing that it's somewhat sluggish? I noticed 3 different things:

1) When generating the map the first time .. you know the % increment, it took ages compared to BoP or whatever.

2) Whenever I log to this map, my client gives me the "Downloading terrain" windows for half a minute - which I never had before with other maps.

3) Terrain generation while exploring the map is mighty slow. I ended up standing at the sheer edge of the map for like 40 seconds staring into the grey void, before the rest of it suddenly appeared before me.

Anyone else noticing these things?

I am also getting extreme block lag spikes ever since I switched to ATG. I chop down a whole tree, to have it reappear after 7 seconds or so.

Server console is being flooded with "Cannot keep up" messages.

Sorry for the doublepost.

I had to turn ATG off and switch back to BoP. It's utterly murdering my server.

1,2,3 and the block lag- yes, but not nearly as extreme as yourself.
What I think is going to cause me hassle is the terrain gen itself. Although wonderfully smooth and eye catching, I can't seem to find a suitable build place until I'm up in the cloud levels. This will make early game deep mining excruciating as I hate that long tromp up the stairs or the ladder. Instead of 80 blocks to bedrock, its 80 blocks until maybe some upper iron ugh. It seems every time I generate a world I start at a shore and everything is up up from there. I see a config to let ATG generate some ores in the mountains, will I have any other ore gen problems using this?

From what I could understand as I ran around, to keep the terrain uniformity, ATG generates a huge piece of terrain instead of a few chunks near you when you reach the edge of the existing generated world.

This is putting a crazy strain on the processing.
