I wouldn't call it rage- This was (originally) a legitimate question stemming from lack of information/NEI being derpy.

All the "rage" and generally stupid/unhelpful posts seem to be coming from the anti greg brigade at the moment- which sends a pretty powerful message if you ask me.​

That's exactly what I just said.

I FOUND IT! As of gt5 (I think) its 4 red stone and 1 copper ingot in the steam alloy smelter. I actually wouldn't have tried it if someone hadn't mentioned that the steam machines don't have proper NEI and there exists a recipe that uses copper as opposed to iron for the normal alloy smelter.

I almost stopped playing because of Tin, I can't criticize anyone who is enraged by this mod.

*addendum; either I'm wrong about the amount of red stone or my alloy smelter is acting funny but I'm out of red stone. I think it may take more than 4, but I got it to work.

I'm happy that you found a solution and thank you for sharing, but the last post prior to yours was in 2014.
