I am starting a new server running FTB Monster 1.1.10. I have used FTP access to upload the server files. All except the ServerStart.bat and ServerStart.sh files transfer just fine. When I try to transfer these 2 files i get a 550 Permission denied (file type access restricted). Then when I try to start my server it crashes.

You have added or removed a mod that requires another mod to function, like computercraft needs several mods to function. If you can't remember what you or somebody with file access has done you can reinstall the pack. This doesn't mean reset the word.

What server jar are you using? 1.4.7 requires coremods with some of these mods and since it is staring 1.4.7 it is looking for things that aren't there eg the missing mods exception.

I changed the name to ftbserver.jar I was told this helped with memory when the server loads up

Changing the name of something doesn't affect anything. Try to use mcpc 1.6.4, you have a 1.4.7 server jar it seems.

could this have anything to do with the ServerStart.bat and ServerStart.sh files not being on my server?

*edit I tried loading the latest version of direwolf20 and am getting the same issue. i guess I'll have to wait until my host gets back to me

Your server.jar that you have is the wrong version as previously stated, you need a ftbserver jar for 1.6.4 and an easy one to get is mcpc.

Monster is a massive pack that requires major resources and constant admin work, if you are just cutting your teeth I would highly recommend a smaller pack.

I find it difficult to handle 30 people on monster with a overclocked i7 3930k @4.3GHz granted I have it. Limited to use half a core max so I'd say 60 people if I wasent handicapping it. Monster is just very very intensive, you don't see any monster servers with 100+ people on them for a reason.

Even our 5Ghz server would slow down at 27 users, it's just a function of the Modpack. To handle this we built a linked multi server setup where worlds have their own server and inventory is linked. This has allowed us to support many many more users without lag.
