FTB Launcher version (if this isn't the newest update update and try again): Latest Version

Minecraft Version: When it loads up it says 1.4.2

Java version: I have both Java 6 and 7 installed on my computer. Windows 7 64 bit.

Detailed description of the issue / how can the issue be recreated: By just reopening the program a few times until it tries to download the mods again, it completely freezes up and doesn't allow me to do anything until I cancel the mod downloader.

Error logs: There really isn't an error in the logs it seems.. But here's a picture of what the console shows when it tries to start downloading the mods. Attached it to the post.

I've tried everything, moving it to a different folder, restarting computer, deleting all files in %appdata% and tried again, it just won't move past downloading mods. When I finally cancel the mod downloader popup, it will close and open up vanilla minecraft. Googled the issue and I can't really find any other threads on this, so some help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I am having the same problem, except that I don't get the Error.png that you are getting. It runs perfect minecraft, but not the mods.
Ugh.

Thank you for using the template and giving lots of information.
Are there any special characters in the filepath of the launcher (including spaces)?
If so could you try moving the launcher (only the exe) to a new folder that doesn't have anything but letters in the filepath? (for example c:\FTB\FTB_Launcher.exe)
Though, usualy these problems are caused by anti virus or firewall programs (especialy norton and AVG it seems).
Which if any anti virus or firewall programs are you using? Have you tried temporarily disabling them before running the launcher?

Update:
The amounts of simular raports in a short period of time have made me believe that this is a issue with the FTB servers.
The issues should be sorted out shortly so please wait a few minutes and try again.

Thanks for the update.
For your other post no, no special symbols in the path name, it's pretty much just straight up on my desktop, I also tried making it it's own folder just simply named FTB and that didn't work also. ( The move it to a different folder thing.)
And yeah, I have AVG. I'll give it a go to see if it's AVG blocking it. Though I've tried running as admin.
EDIT:
Gave it a whirl again, still nothing. Tried disabling AVG's "sheilds" and it still didn't go. It's also been happening since last night. (When I first tried downloading it.)

Try a clean install of both Java and the launcher. Make sure every firewall and antivirus program that you have are turned off. I usually suggest uninstalling your AV during the time you are downloading the launcher, and during your first launch with it. This way, you will know if there is an issue with your AV's or firewalls blocking the program. Also, make sure you don't have any firewalls attached to your routers, that no one else is using up a significant amount of bandwidth on your internet (this could halt your download if there is too much going on).

I have never had a problem with a firewall blocking anything in the past (which is why I don't think it could be this.), I have tried redownloading the launcher many times, the only thing I can think of if is reinstalling Java, but could that really be it? It downloads the minecraft.jar file just fine but when it tries to download the mods it just stops.

I suggest these things, because in the past they have worked, and the problems are almost always caused by the same handful of problems.

Open the file and go to your launcher folder, then open the FTBBETAA folder and place the instMods folder there.
Then open the minecraft folder (the one in your FTBBETAA folder) and place the files in the zip files .minecraft folder there.
Hopefully this will get you somewhere, but don't really know if it will work.

I am also having trouble downloading the modpacks, the progress bar just doesn't move at all. When I try the link you provided, I get a CreeperHost site with a "Download Now" button. But whenever I click it, the same page just opens again with the button restarting its 5 second countdown.

Edit: If I use Opera instead of Firefox the download works though. Gonna test this out some more.

Edit2: OK, I uninstalled AVG completely (going to install something different) the mod download via FTB worked now. (Mind you I had a pretty old version of AVG installed so this may just be my fault.)
Download via the Link still doesn't work under Firefox though. *shrugs*

It does that sometimes, just try again a few times and it should work :)
It's probably caused by the incredibly high bandwith use that the FTB pack causes.
Someone mentioned in another thread that the servers had used over 130TB bandwith in less then a week.

I found that the download that was linked above does not include IC2. If I just find the regular IC2 mod will it work with the other mods?

EDIT: Ignore that just tell me how the heck to get the dang thing to work. I tried the stuff above, and It didn't work. Everything worked with the 1.0.5 version of the launcher, but the newer version does not work. If I could get a link to the old version I would be very grateful.

Mods not downloading is usually fixed by making sure your AV's/firewalls aren't blocking the download, and changing your download location (where you download from)

I'm having the same problem, running the very latest launcher (FTB_Launcher.exe 1.4.3) and trying to play the "FTB Ultimate" modpack. The launch/install process stalls forever when it hits the download-the-modpack pass. It prints this in the console:

Downloading Mod Pack
http://www.creeperrepo.net/direct/FTB2/6c36030a9f3c6ec05edc3bac6d52206b/modpacks%5EUltimate%5E1_0_1%5EUltimate.zip

and then pops up a small dialog with a dark progress bar, reading:

Downloading...
Downloading mod pack...
Please wait

and then proceeds to do nothing further, forever. If I try to access that URL directly in a web browser it starts to download just fine -- it's not a network access problem. It's that the Launcher itself seems unable to properly initiate & process the download.

Since I know I can download the modpack manually, is there some way to use that to jumpstart the process?

Change the location you're downloading from in the Options>Advanced Options
