Modpacks question (or maybe just a rant)

I am currently running a server with the FTB Beta A pack and am looking into options for upgrading without losing any of the mods currently running, but it seems that every option is missing something.

If I did the Mindcrack pack I'd lose mystcraft.
If I did the Direwolf pack I'd lose Gregtech and Advanced Solars.
If I did a private pack I would lose PortalGun.

Does anyone have any ideas on ways to upgrade or do I just need to wait patiently with everyone else for who know how long for FTB Ultimate?

You could have a semi private pack. For example use Direwolf and then install Gregtech & Solars on the server manually and have each client do that also. One problem is though most people don't want to install on their own. So if you want a public server you won't get many to join, but a private one, it would work great.
