Modpack Download fails all the time

Hello guys,

I was not sure where to post this problem but I do not think it is a tech problem.

Every time I want to download some modpack the download breaks at ~80%.

The only thing that changes is the LOCAL checksum. So I do not think there is a problem with my local machine.

I would appreciate if someone can halp me out.

Hint: I tried it 20-30 times the last time (DW v.4) and suddently it worked but I really dont want to do this again. My internet connection is pure crap and it takes a bunch of time :(

Ok guys,

I figured out a workaround for my problem. This also works for updates: simple make a backup of your saves and delete the folder of the modpack.

Here is a step-by-step guide:

1. manually download the Pack (e.g. DW20 v. 5.0.1) with the link which is shown in the FTB Console
2. extract the Direwolf20.zip in the FTB Directory (e.g. ~/FTB/Direwolf20)
3. rename minecraftforge.zip to minecraftforge.jar (in ~/FTB/Direwolf20/instMods)
4. launch FTB via Launcher will start downloading minecraft.jar and so on but no longer the modpack itself because it is already there
(5. if there is a message "Modpack out of date" edit "version" in ~/FTB/Direwolf20 and write the actual version number in it)

I hope this helps people who have the same issues downloading a modpack via FTB Launcher.
