Java is... tricky. I didn't really understand it until I took an actual class on it. But then it was pretty easy... I guess the people who get paid to teach people how to Java have a better idea of how to do that then a random person with Internet access and a compiler that knows very little about the language.

But, there are people out there- MC modders, even- who did manage to teach themselves. So it's not impossible.
