*looks at the missing arm, the black thing around the sun together with black dots in the air and a weird orange line at the horizon when looking at a block, the fact that certain things looks hollow if you open up your inventory. Did I miss any? note that they might just be my mod selection doing weird things*

1.8.1 is the version of MC Beta that I first used. I think. Might've been a later version of Beta 1.8, though...

No one likes it for one reason or another though some people see it as the savior of the 1.7 times.
Modders need to work with json files to get their blocks to render, this makes certain thing impossible to do as it takes to much space and time for all the files and players need to deal with all kind of weird render bugs because of it.
But their are also good things, as it removes lag and more things get multi-threaded
