Actually, he can, its more of a matter of if you think it is ok to do so. Any one can complain about anything. I could complain about the sky being blue. I personally don't care about what people complain about as far as mod packs and forums go since that doesn't exactly change my opinion on the matter. If anything it gives me more things to consider.
He can, it does not mean that it is acceptable to do so, it is like saying I can murder and that makes it ok. Seriously, this forum acts as a support for all users of FTB, trying to say that one of the main purposes of it being used is bad is quite arrogant. (No offense jordsta) And while people complaining does sometimes give me more angles to consider, rants are generally NOT a safe source of information.

Actually, mudering someone and expressing opinions are 2 different things m8.

Okay so here we go.
  1. Why the fuck are all these bug reports in general chat?
  2. Why is there practically no discussion anymore? Like seriously where are the "A shitstorm" threads were we discuss things to move the community forward?
Addressing #1 you may say that it pertains to FTB...fuck that shit. The general FTB chat used to be full of dozens of pages of marvelous discussion. This is what a forum thrives on, discussion not bug reports. So I propose that we have more "ranting" threads. More places where people can debate and actually move the state of modded mc forward. This is rapidly becoming a thing of the past

To #2 you may say that these "a shitstorm" threads were never a good thing. To that I say that you are very very mistaken. Out of the "a shitstorm" thread we got to a semi-agreement on the state of RF, an amazing thing to do in a community this large. We discussed things in a semi-civil manner better than any flame-war I have ever seen. Also, time does not heal all wounds, but cutting someone open, injecting them with plasma, and fixing shit does.

All the spam threads are bugging me more than the lack of discussion. It seems to be a bit better now than it used to be though.
In the General chat I see 2 threads marked with discussion and in the Mod Discussion section I see 3; I rest my case.

We could always beat a dead horse like "ore multiplication arms race", "RF is too easy", "IC2 is stagnant" etc.

It was a comparison. -_-
and? that doesn't really make it any less of a horrible wording choice. And my thoughts on it still stand. Yeah, it may not be a very sound opinion. But this is a forum for a modded minecraft launcher. I honestly don't think that having his opinion is going to change much. Plus I honestly don't care to much about his opinion since it isn't mine and it doesn't change mine in any way. Its just his, and he expressed it.

The fact that we need to beat a dead horse is the really sad thing
Well actually, sometimes bringing up old topic is good. Such as the "IC2 what is the point of it nowadays?" sorta thing or more related to my rant "Factorization, should it be discontinued/have a load more stuff/RF support added" (if RF was added to Fac. then I may not hate it as much, seeing as Charge is a terrible power system)

Actually I consider it a fine wording choice, it shows how just because something is considered a smaller issue, people think that it is fine to do what they want. This shows how serious their mentality could be if in a more serious set of circumstances.

EDIT: Also why is StrikingWolf liking everything?

Except that this is not going to change the world or anything at that. Maybe in a different situation, but not this one.

ftfy. that is why my eyes roll so hard at this pack.
Don't change the wording of my quote, stable is what I said, not stagnant. DW20 has a good mix of mods that he is comfortable with, which slowly changes over time with new mods being added. The only "stagnant" is his gameplay, it doesn't change much (even with new mods), but who are we to tell him how to play his game? He has a comfort zone, and doesn't stray far from it.

I'm sorry, but unless someone's opinions were racist/sexist/homophobic then comparing it to murder is too extreme. It's as bad as people who compare the strictness of teachers with the nazi regime. It's just not comparable

I am not going to debate this more with the both of you as I have just been put in a fairly bad mood by something IRL and this will just devolve into a flame war right now. If you feel like you need to debate this more before I get back then, just do it amongst yourselves.

Depends on how often it is brought up ;)
