I recently downloaded the FTB launcher. After placing it in a new folder, I opened it. It downloaded the minecraft.jar file successfully, but when it brought up the dialog box which says "Downloading mod pack... Please Wait", there was and is still no progress made on the completion bar. No mod files have been created anywhere, and it seems there are many people having the same or similar problems as I. If I exit the mod download window, Minecraft opens but with no mods whatsoever installed. There is no error message as I closed the window. I run Windows Vista 64-bit with Java 7 update 9. I am using AVG, but it is of no help to turn it off, as many have already claimed. More than once I have tried clearing out all of the FTB files and downloading a new one, but to no avail. If someone understands the problem, please jump in and let me know what I can do to fix it! Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it's all I have. I don't think it will be of much assistance though.

It does help, it rules out a lot of possibilities.
Make sure you don't have any other firewalls up that could be blocking access.

Still doesn't work. I feel like it's more of an issue with Java than with my antivirus.[DOUBLEPOST=1353037043][/DOUBLEPOST]Is there a way to download the modpack outside of the launcher and then drag and drop the files in myself?

Just to rule out some issues, make a new folder directly on the C drive and call it FTB (or anything without a space or other special characters really).
Then download the latest launcher from the FTB page and try to launch it from that folder.
