Mod conflic/conflicts but the lancher just roll with it.

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
Mod conflic/conflicts but the lancher just roll with it.
Launcher Version:
v1.4.8
Modpack:
Ultimate Pack
Modpack Version:
v1.1.2
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
I got a confict with a Camera mod and the Pocket Enchanter that come with the modpack..
And it cleary say it is a ID confict in the log but when I check the CameraMod Config the ID's are not uset... And the modpack lanchers like noting have happend..... Snif..

In game"" In Creative menu the ""tab"" icon for CameraMod got the pocket enchanter and not a camera like suppost to be. And there is no cameras.. Only the outher things that come with the mod. And ontop of that the Pocket enchanter got a extra recipe. The recipe for one of the cameras use.

Installing the CameraMod with a clean Minecraft works.

I uset the inventory option in game to dump a txt file with free/uset ID's and before and after the mod was installd. And checkt with the CameraMod Config and there was no ID conflict with them. And I do not understand what the log is trying to tell me... The log tell me that there is a conflict and lanchers the modpack anyways..... I have tested to chance the ID's manually with in the CameraMod config with free ID's. The game crasht.. Like what is going on??? Btw have installd allot of mods and removed one from the normal Ultimate Modpack.

Are you suggesting that Launcher should detect misconfigurations and bad mod interactions if user decides to edit the pack?

Would it be possible to try changing the IDs that the pocket enchanter mod is using?
Have you tried removing the pocket enchanter mod entirely?

Just did research on the "pocket enchanter" mod. I couldn't find any such mod. I did find a item referenced in a mod called "Enchanting Plus". If so it isn't part of a default mod in FTB Ultimate. It does sound like a nice mod though. It is probably one you would prefer to keep too. So it looks like this might be a little tougher then I originally thought.

I just remembered a mod I tried out back then. It helped a lot with solving ID conflicts. A quick search says it was called "ID resolver" and it does look like it had a 1.4.7 forge version. I don't know if the mod is still downloadable. This is the original thread on it though (Link). I can't figure out which version is compatible with minecraft 1.4.7 either.

It sounds like you have turned Ultimate into a custom modpack. I remember it being extremely tough to get custom modpacks up and running back then. That is the main reason I started using modpack installers like the FTB launcher in the first place. It was just more then I wanted to deal with. It might take awhile to get the pack fully up and running. Just keep working at it. Google will help a lot here.

With google search, or any search engine for that matter. If you enter the terms
Code:
"Minecraft 1.4.7" modded config help
with the quotes you might be able to find some stuff worth reading. Not for sure. Just add terms or adjust them whenever the results are unsatisfactory.

Though forums like this will try and help you as best they can with one on one guidance and troubleshooting, they really aren't the best equipped to teach you how to configure a custom modpack. We will try though.
