Mining Nether ores?

Hello,
I´m new to ftb and unsure I do something wrong or perhaps found some kind of bug.
I´m using the ftb beta 0.7 without gregtech. I went to the nether and tried to mine some of the nether ores with my tinkers construct pick. Mining the quartz is possible, but the others I can´t. please take a look to this short video I did.
Am I doing something wrong?

Hello ICountfrom0,
Thank you very much for your help. I have three books - Materials and you; Mighty Smelting and a red Materials and you. In the red I read about adding diamonds to a tool increases the mining level to 3. Is it that what you mean? But i have a diamond added to the pick. I also tried mining the ores with a normal diamond pick, a mining drill and even an advanced mining drill.
I´m sure I miss something very obvious here to my own disgrace... :-(

OMG .... Alumite.
And I thought I would need the nether ores to get the alumite...
Now I got it - thank you very much ICountFrom0. :-D
