Mining in Departed

The tinker's book says alumite mines cobalt, but I can't seem to get my hammer or pick (alumite) to mine it. What am I missing?

you need to look at the recipe for alumite in the mighty forge handbook
You should see that it is made by iron obsidian and alumminum good luck!

I have alumite tools. They won't mine the cobalt for some reason.

you sure did you go all the way through with the mine

Yep. Even the tooltip says I don't have a high enough tool. Very puzzling. No problems on Infinity, only Departed.

I can't remember if Departed has Iguana tweaks but if it does, you may have to "Level Up" your pick by mining alot of things until it ups it's mining level

Ah, yeah. It does have that feature. The tools have to be leveled up. Thanks.
