I have tried to update Java, LWJGL, and it still is not loading. I will admit that my son plays and I'm not "in the know" as to the details of this issue. All I know is that when he gets to launch Minecraft, it shuts down. I dragged each file, as described in the LWJGL update over the old file. It asks which version I want to keep, and I say the new version. I'm sorry I'm probably not using the proper technical terminology. I have OS X Maverick and Java 7 45.

Did you update the mod pack folder or the vanilla folder? You need to update the files in the mod pack folder as each mod pack has its own version of the LWJGL. Also a log of the error would help. Click on the 'Paste my log to pastebin.com' This will post a link to the log in the console window that you provide to us. Look here for more info about the logs.

I've pasted the log to pastebin.com. I've deleted and reinserted the files, but have not tried it yet. I did do a force update yesterday, which seems to have updated everything in FTB. It still didn't work. I know I'm missing a small but significant detail somewhere.

I updated the bin and native files. Got the zip file "lwjgl-2.9.0 2" and deleted and reinserted files from native and bin. Mod packs is the question. On my Mac the Directory is FTB/Ultimate/minecraft/, but then I have coremods (which are 4 .jar files) and mods (which are about 40 .zip and .jar files, a combination of both). Or am I going down the wrong path?

Doing a force update reverts the LWJGL back to 2.4.2 Ignore the coremods and mods folder. You want to use the 'bin' and 'bin/natives' folder. Look here for which files to place in which folder. Making sure to stay in the mod pack folder you mentioned in your post (/FTB/Ultimate/minecraft/). Also be sure to do the 'All operating systems' and 'Mac' parts.

You posted the log to pastebin.com which is good, but you also have to give us the link to it. If you are experiencing problems after you update this time please post a new console log to pastebin.com of the crash and link to it here.

I replaced the 'bin' and 'bin/native' files as instructed. Got it to work. Closed it, then opened it and it crashed. The link to the log is above.

2013-10-30 18:14:13 [INFO] [STDOUT] LWJGL Version: 2.4.2
_NSJVMLoadLibrary: NSAddLibrary failed for /libjawt.dylib
JavaVM FATAL: lookup of function JAWT_GetAWT failed. Exit

The update did not work. Try replacing libjawt.dylib again. Also be sure that for libopenal.dylib you 'For this one, create a copy of openal.dylib, then rename it to libopenal.dylib'

I see that the 'libjawt.dylib' isn't on there. I can't find it in the lwjgl-2.9.0 zip file and I don't see it in either the 'bin' or 'bin/native' file.
Neither do I. I was hoping it was one you forgot. If you are up for this I suggest doing a force update and trying again. Making sure to follow the guide, the part about all the OSes and Mac specific instructions, and use the files in the Mac folder when possible. I apologize I do not have a Mac so I cannot test this out. Good luck.

Today, I found 2 JavaAppletPlugin.pluginin my Finder/Applications folder. Note that both time I tried to install Java 7, it said "Installation failed", but Java left these files in my Finder/Applications anyway. I deleted both of those, installed "Java for OS X 2013-005" (off support.apple.com/kb/dl1572), which was successful. Tried to open Minecraft. The Java windows closed out before Minecraft even came up, as it has been doing all this time. Then did Force Update from the FTB site, relaunched FTB Ultimate, and got a "Minecraft Crashed" screen. At least it loaded with SOMETHING from Minecraft. Here's the log from this crash: http://pastebin.com/d34P0Arw.

The log shows that you are on LWJGL 2.4.2 again.

Possibly related is that Java 7 installation has failed TWICE. It was there before all this. But when we couln't launch Minecraft, one of the things I did was to do the instructions found here to reenable Apple provided Java SE 6, but then followed the Additional Information here again to restore Java 7.[DOUBLEPOST=1383329892][/DOUBLEPOST]
The log shows that you are on LWJGL 2.4.2 again.
Thank you for this. I'll try updating LWJGL 2.9.0 again
