Recently, I have been playing around with a bit more of a hardcore/survival aspect in my minecraft games. Consequently, I have been dieing quite a lot, and kinda found the minecraft death mechanic somewhat lacking.
It alternates between being somewhat irrelevant (dieing in an accesible area with little mob threats) to complete loss (dieing in lava/to a powerful mob). I find that this way of handling death is both too punishing and too simple.
My current plan is to use a death chest mod together with a respawn randomizer - requiring you to work your way back to your old state, but at the same time allowing you to resume from your old state if you want to.
That said, I would be interested if there are other changes for the minecraft death mechanic around. Does anyone know of an interesting mod?
