Windows .exe Minecraft crash when loading new chunks

The game runs just fine. I built myself a house, explored a village, and cut down some trees. However, any time new chunks are loaded, Minecraft has a chance of crashing. This happens any time I walk away from my house in one direction for more than 1 minute. It crashes regardless of RAM setting (tested on both 1GB and 4GB). This is the FTB beta mod pack with added Optifine. This problem does not occur on my superflat test world.

Something in your Java is telling your launcher that you cannot load the chunks you are trying to render.

Uninstall Java, every java you may have (just make sure you don't have more than one). Restart your computer to ensure a complete uninstall. Redownload Java.


Or, it looks like you may have a corrupted chunk and may need to make a new world.
I actually did that a few weeks ago, but I tried it again just now anyway. The only version of Java I now have on my computer is the 64 bit JRE 7 update 9 downloaded from Oracle.

The problem persists. I created 3 new normal survival worlds. The first 2 crashed after moving about 15 blocks from spawn. The third world crashed after moving about 100 blocks from spawn. The crash log is identical to the first in all 3 cases.

I don't know. I will keep looking for a solution. Hopefully, someone else will come around, maybe recognize it and provide some assistance as well :)

I had this problem yesterday as well. Routine crashes when trying to enter specific chunks. One of those chunks happened to be the location of my original shelter and any attempts to enter that chunk would always seem to be fine until 15-20 seconds later when the game would crash to desktop and upon reloading I would find my character on the 'safe' side of the chunk boundary.

I resolved this issue by doing a clean re-install of the FTB launcher and mod pack. Prior to this, I had manually updated the Thermal Expansion mod to get rid of the chat notice every time the game loaded, but since re-installing I've made a point of not altering the mods that come with the pack.

Noe also after reading the OP's latest response that I also tried creating a new world and the problem persisted until I re-installed the launcher/modpack.

I fixed my issue. It was caused by Optifine. Disabling Optifine stopped the crashing, and it is now working correctly with a different version of Optifine installed.

May I ask what version of Optifine you are using? I seem to be getting this crash too, and I am also using Optifine. I cant really run FTB without it.

What version of optifine is it because im getting a problem similar to that except it crashes because i try to load a new village and the reason why is because of a glass pane it doesn't want to render right
