Details of the issue:
All server statues are up and I can't find any instances of others have issues. For the past 4 hours I have been receiving "Minecraft Authentication servers might be down", but they seem to be perfectly fine. Is there any other reason I'd be receiving this message?​

It actually looks like it has connected to the servers, but was not able to perform the SSL handshake properly. With all the SSL vulnerabilities that have been floating around recently (POODLE, HEARTBLEED, etc.), it wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft/Mojang updated their servers. You could try installing the latest Java 8 (you're currently running Java 7).

It randomly started working again after about 2 days... I don't know. If it happens again i'll try that for sure.
