Depends if you use bookcases or not and if you can not use enchants on your own. But I must say having a sign that has every enchant in the game on it is hilarious.

that's better than the holy planks of SengirWe had a nice little discussion about enchanting on a different forum, where I had a simplistic idea. What if enchanting was more like... cooking. Imagine it like this. Exp would be like a fuel, You could turn the rate at which you consume it up and down. Different ingredients require different amounts of XP to fully deliver the sought after effect. Some lose power gradually, some gain it, some have a peak in there somewhere, perhaps even two, but burn off into nothingness when you overdo it. The ingredients could be common things, the thaumcraft essentia system could play a role.
This way, by following a certain recipe, you'd always get a certain enchantment. However, mistakes could be always made. It's science! It's art! It's magic! It's enchanting with a twist!
Anyway. Let me put the train back on track:
I'm planing on matterfabricating most of the rubies needed for the coils. Using diamond dust (from wither skellies) instead of scrap, this should.. be possible. The rest will be redstone. I'm planing on doing this with as little digging as possible.
Right now I'm quarrying the nether for chrome. 1 quarry running off ~3 combustion engines is fed to 3 rotary macerators (although I think 2 will do). The netherrack dust is sent to an array of 30 industrial centrifuges, and the redstone dust that comes out is fed back to the array for centrifuging into ruby dust.
The same setup can be used to fuel the reactor by quarrying endstone and centrifuging it to helium3, but it can only handle 1 combustion engine on the quarry or it gets backed up
This method also produces tons of sulfur (useless?) coal dust (yay breeder reactor) and some iron and mercury cells. Actually looking at the numbers now I'm not sure it's better than just quarrying the overworld for redstone/rubies. It takes 1536 netherrack to produce 1 chrome, which at 3 blocks per second is ~ 8.5 minutes per chrome... Oh well, I'm not going to pump lava for power or metals due to lag issues, so other than this the nether is useless to me, might as well exploit what I can get from it.

6144 uum is 102.4 billion EU. Where's that power coming from? In an efficiency 4 nuclear reactor -- relatively good! -- that will take a bit over 25 thousand uranium cells to produce.
Similarly, the fusion reactor needs what, 700 or 750 iridium to build? Where does GT expect that you'll actually get that -- strip mining the entire world, or by blowing another 81 billion EU on uumatter at 7 uu per iridium ore...?
Greetings oh great and powerful thread necromancer. You can get a ton of eu out of boilers using a renewable fuel, nuclear reactors on default configs are garbage. You'll need a ton of EU production anyway to have enough power to get the reaction going (and power all the stuff you'll need running constantly to build the reactor and fuel supply). Witches, quarries and laser drills (in more recent versions of MFR) are excellent sources of redstone. Bees are also decent for both redstone & rubies. UUM is best saved for the iridium, but even the iridium can be obtained in decent quantities from sheldonite ore in the End.

Solar spam works, but we are all above such low trickery; probably the best option is some kind of tree farm going into generators (or boilers).
Tee hee, more fun numbers. The 750 or so iridium you need is what you'd expect to find by quarrying a chunk of ground about 980x980 blocks. You could also think of that as 600 40x40 quarries, or 235 64x64 quarries. (It's actually a bit better than that because you'll also find ferrous ore, which can be processed for an incremental iridium yield.)
Still need the juice to run the quarries for all that ground, but that ... sounds a lot less ridiculous, actually. I guess Greg really does just expect you to strip-mine the world.

Quarries aren't GT or IC2 either. But Greg's own pack includes Railcraft, MFR and Forestry (although without extra/magic bees, bees are irrelevant). So wonder no longer. There's even Mystcraft to create entire worlds full of endstone to make He-3. No need to strip mine the world when you can make as many as you want for that.
Solar power is horribad on so many, many levels. One is far better off stuffing logs into generators (which routers are GREAT at) than turning perfectly good generators into something that provides less than 1/10th the power per tick.
