Unfortunately I am not the server admin so I may have to get back to you on info such as the host's OS and all that. I did, however, manage to get an error log from an admin. The error log says its running on Windows Server 2008 R2 (AMd 64).

The server crashes during load, so we can't get in to pick off and replace our filters. One of the RP2 filters seems to causing the issue. I've heard that making an edit with MCEdit changes all of the nearby mod blocks into random vanilla blocks, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

This happened after updating the server to 8.2.0 upon first load. An admin tried reverting to an older version of RP2 but that did not fix it.

Here's the log:

What's the best way to fix this, doing the least damage to the server?

You can determine the exact chunk (in this case, 19,-11) that the filter is in, then go into your world folder and find the region containing the chunk (in this case, 0,-1). Next you would open the dat file (using a program such as NBTEditor), scroll down to the correct chunk, and delete the tag for entities. all entities in that chunk *should* clear, as far as i know.

Thanks, I informed them about NBTEditor and they were able to save the server.

We were able to determine the exact cause of the issue as well.

A few of us were using pumps in the nether with ender chests to send lava cans to the overworld to generate power. We used aluminum cans (XyCraft) because that was pretty much its only purpose prior to the recent update. The latest XyCraft update removed aluminum cans and replaced the recipe with regular cans. Our filters in the nether were fine, they were meant to filter on empty aluminum cans and they showed up as "unknown" but all the filters pulling from the nether that had lava cans in them crashed the server if they were being chunk loaded.

In short, aluminum cans were removed. Aluminum cans with lava in them inside a filter = crash.

How do I change this thread to "Solved?"

No problem! I had a similar problem, except someones mulch somehow duplicated so there was about 80 thousand mulch in a couple RP tubes. To change the thread to solved there should be an edit thread button on your original post.
