OKey i bet this tread have been made before but i can not find it..

I think Millènaire is one of the best mods out there

My 2 questions is:
Anybody have a guide to how to add millènaire to a pack? I now it can be done.. but how? any problems i will come over?

And i want to know WHY Millènaire almost are "banned" here.. is the mod creater kind of a anti-FTB or something?

Yeah i know my english is kind of rubbish

I can't help with the first one( never played with the mod.) But I can with the second. It's not "banned" in any way, shape, or form. It just isn't brought up very often due to not being in any FTB Packs. We talk more about mods we know then the ones we don't. :)

yeah i understand that.. but many likes millènaire.. so why is it not in any packs?.. is it a compatible issue? mod-creator issue?

Actually I would say the reason it is generally not in modpacks is because it is supremely incompatible with a lot of things, AND it causes tons of massive lag when used in any decent sized modpack. I mean alone with a minimal set up it runs fine but yeah.

Yeah it definitely causes extreme pressure when generating new towns.

If you'd like to see a pack with it, why not make one? There is a list of mod permissions for modpacks private or public here: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=96628E67B4C51B81!161&ithint=file,xlsx&app=Excel&authkey=!APQ4QtFrBqa1HwM

It doesn't have every mod but it is an extremely large list that can be used to cut down on the time in making a modpack. To make a pack with Millenaire you will need the mod authors written permission though.

It definitely looks interesting, but I'd want to see how it falls compatability-wise.

I've used it before in the DW20 packs. It works fine but by default it only places villages in vanilla biomes.

If you want it to generate villages in BoP biomes you have to modify some config files. The instructions are on the Millènaire forums.

You aren't supposed to place the zip you downloaded into your mods folder. You extract the files within the zip into your mods folder.

I used to play with Millènaire, but never too long because it'd quickly cause alot of lag
last week I tried playing with it again in a small modpack in 1.7.10
I didn't even play it for a whole day because of the constant lag I had

Doesn't help that 1.7.10 is laggy to begin with ;)

But OT:
I think Millenaire is very strict with permissions (unless they eased up since last time I checked) which is why people don't use it. Same with Traincraft (I love that mod!)
And I don't think mod-devs are ever anti-FTB... anti-Technic yes, I understand that, but FTB? Not that I know of. Just like others said, it's not in FTB packs, so people don't talk about it here. For example Steve's Workshop, not many packs have it, and not many people use it, so it's not really talked about.

Traincraft is awsome!..

Traincraft + Millenaire in a small pack with some lagfriendly sorting mods and some handy ones.. Mixing it to a stable pack and its a dream come true for me
maybe mocreatures with some of mobs turned of and you have a beautiful good adventure/travel pack.

crap.. not getting used to this... some places i can use the zip and other places i need to extract :p.. but yeah it worked! thanx!

didn't really matter, because as soon as I removed millènaire, the problem was solved

I tried Millenaire in 1.5.2 iirc. It lasted a week in the pack and was removed due to lag, and the fact that the villagers were targets for almost every mob adding mod's mobs - including neutral mobs - which, being neutral spawned in high light situations and were consequently impossible to keep out the villages.

The lag was weird as it happened even when not near a millenaire village, so I doubted it could be the mod - however removing it resolved the lag, so...

Over time I had trouble with Millenaire's villagers falling down ravines, caves, and holes that made it impossible for them to path back to where they belong.

Minecolony villagers had the same issue.

IIRC Millenaire villages are always loaded? Not 100% sure on that... but that could have been why. If you loaded the the villages it may have been keeping them loaded...
I am not sure on this though

yeah i belive every village you had visited start loading like a big chunk loader to keep the village aktive and growing.. im not sure either
