So I changed my account name and when I play direwolf20 1.6 I lost all my items. Is there anyway to get my items back or do i have to spawn them back in?

To my knowledge you must cheat the items in. There is no other way (that I know of.)

Meh. If you know java, then there might be some file somewhere that you could edit. I don't know java so this is just a semi-random guess.

Also, with the username change, anything that uses your username will not carry over to your new one. This includes Thaumcraft Research, EE3 research, HQM progress, in game achievements, and Blood Magics blood network.

You may be able to play around with the player data a little bit to transfer it, but it's going to take a lot of work and I'm not even sure if it'll fully work.
