I got my cursed earth farm, no light getting in. I also got my spawner room near by. I transport everything with a tesseract directly hooked up. Yet I don't seem to be getting any drops while offline. Almost as if these machines aren't there. I got a pretty big area chunkloaded, so I know it isn't that, but I am kinda stumped as to what it could be.

It's kinda hard to explain, but any clues ?

I thought a cursed earth spawner only works if the player is nearby? Chunk loading that doesn't help.

It may have changed, cause I used to run it offline, but that was some time ok .. So I'm assuming it's something new with MFR perhaps ... less maybe it is the cursed earth?

Of course, this contradicts the wiki,

""This block is typically used for mob grinders. The spawning rate of hostile mobs on Cursed Earth is very high and mobs will spawn no matter where the player is as long as the area is chunkloaded and if the light level is sufficiently low.""

That being said, my base is pretty large, and all of it is chunkloaded.

Because the moment you log off they are all like *I AIN'T GONNA WORK ON/BRIAN'S [MOB] FARM NO MORE*

It's hipster bullshit and they know it. Give 'em a slap and it should sort them out.

For some reason it's burning through the mob essence faster than I bring it in. I have a 10x10 cursed earth mob farm. There are 2 grinders set up on each side of it to cover the entire area. I have 5 auto-spawners set up (though for the purposes of testing this, I disconnected 4 of them). With just 1 set up, it is burning through the essence faster than the farm can produce it. The autospawners seem to be receiving mob essence, even if they are full so there is no chance for a surplus to be built. But even with that, it should still be able to create it faster than I use it.

What exactly is going on here?

1. Looks like plain "English" to me. Can you not understand?

2. If you are gonna criticize my use of the English language, you better make damn sure yours is spot on, such as your non capitalization of the word "English".

3. I'm not your "bud".

Well he's the one that posted trying to be funny. I'm just patiently waiting for an answer.
If you are on a server, it might be possible someone else is using the same tesseract frequency and getting your mob essence. Do you have it set to a public or private frequency? I can't think of any other reason, especially if it worked fine in the past.

Actually it is on private. Was really weird. Could be some derpy bug with the latest version of mfr ?

Well one thing that could be happening is that while yes you have it chunkloaded. Theres a config option to have chunk loading only work when the player is online and stops chunk loading when a player goes offline. Several servers do it this way so chunks arn't loading all the time, only when the player is online.

I think cursed earth has a player distance check like a vanilla spawner. If so, chunk loading it when offline won't really make much difference.

Here's a question that hasn't been asked yet? What modpack are you playing?

DW20 ... thought I had mentioned it.

Wonder if that is something toggable in the config? I never knew this to be the case, but certainly is possible I guess.

I don't think this to be the case. I only say that because my ender quarry has been running while I was offline, and my base, which is chunkloaded, processes those ores.

IIRC the mobs may instantly despawn if there isn't a player in range due to the vanilla game mechanics. Other than that, I've noticed that MFR machines will stop if they run out of inventory space to put things in.

I had a tesseract on top of the grinder for exporting fluids/importing power, and I was pipes the items directly into the AE system.
