Is there any way to fix this? I'm trying to have a easy tree farm but this thing is ripping through all of my energy reserves.

Basically, you'll need to get a better generation method. As far as I know, they will always drain power.

My mfr setup usually starts powering itself after a cycle or two ( tree farm ) and most likely have enough power to run anymore mfr stuffs I might add later on.

Just have the farm run some wood into a redstone furnace then into a steam dynamo or two. That'll produce plenty of power with exsess.

Even better, run the logs through a sawmill into a cyclic assembler to make half slabs. You get more total RF from a single log with this process than you do converting it into charcoal. You also get some extra RF from the saw dust if you convert that into charcoal as well (or keep that as charcoal for making torches like I do).

Is this something new? I've played a lot with MFR stuff and from my experience they will not use any power when Idle. The harvester will use 240 RF/t (24MJ/t) when in harvest mode, but once it's idle it stops using power at all. You can use the multimeter from TE3 to check it.

The only powersink in MFR is the Laser drill, which will consume all you got I guess :)

I've run my tree farm and my whole base on just 4 steam dynamos (turning the logs to charcoal), and that's with adjusting the MFR configs to double the power usage (and quad power on the sludge boiler attached to the harvester).
Perhaps your config has different power requirements?
