Hello everyone,

I am obsessed with Veggie Juice. I just need to have it. I decided one day to become a potatofarmer. My problem is: the potatoes do not grow instantly with the Fertilizer using all the fertilizers possible. I tried removing Wrath Lamps and I checked my Energy Tesseract. All are working perfectly. In the GUI I can see it is drawing in power, but it doesn't have the Wk variable, it stays at 0/1 Wk. Any help?

(Btw: The hole in the approximate middle is a Planter and the Unleashed version I am using is 1.1.6)

Are you sure they're supposed to grow instantly with fertilizer? Not every thing does.

Okay, I just found something out. Apparently the upgrades for the machines are bugged. Meaning you can only make small batches of 3x3.

They worked absolutely fine in 1.1.4 and I don't think MFR had an update going to 1.1.6.
The position of your fertilizer is weird on the pic though, it should be centered along the same line as the planter.
Couldn't find a proper pic but you can see it there:

Does it really need to? I tried this out in SP and tried the exact same setup and it is still acting weird. I put Fertilizer in all slots by the way.

MFR machines operate in a square, with the machine located on the center of one side.

MXXX

M= Machine
X= Area of Operation.
In this diagram, the "operating" side of the machine is facing the X's.

Exceptions to this are the planter and sewer, which are at the center of their area of operation.

I know how it works. I tried a 3x3, it worked like I wanted it to work to. If you even try to upscale it by 1, it is slow like hell. That is the problem it seems. So I think it is a bug.

Or maybe a nerf to those who go ethanol boiler housing about 20ish boilers I believe.

All MFR machines traverse their entire array of potential work spots at the same speed. The larger that array is, the slower the machine will operate. A 1 radius upgrade on a fertilizer is a 5x5 area, 25 spots to check. Unupgraded is only 9 spots. You're almost tripling the array size it has to check. So instead of being just a little bit slower, it ends up being close to 3 times slower.

One can entirely dispense with the fertilizer and planter if one simply makes use of massive parallelism and crops that don't need replanting (stuff in ic2 crops, pam's stuff, some vanilla stuff). Basically just upgrade a harvester to max and plant the whole field. It'll take a long time for the harvester to check all the spots, but they'll all be growing at the same time such that you'll eventually have a steady flow of material.

Ahh thanks for the explanation that why our smei big rubber tree farm doesn't "intra cuts" the trees. But since there a lot of stuffs we don't need to worry about "optimizing" with muli farms then.
