Looks like MFR is open source after all and some of the team is working on updating it. This is from Denoflions creator of plugins for forestry and has helped with MFR. He posted this in PowerCrystal's minecraft forum thread.
"PowerCrystal's mods are open source, so he just forked the repo and started working. Quite a few of us have started ports, though stranger1029 seems to be the furthest along.
I'll look into his code this weekend since I'm familiar with the codebase. If it looks ok I'll get it added to my automatic build service so people can try it out."
So it looks like some beta unofficial 1.6.2 builds will start coming out. makes me very happy. Soon TE and MFR will 1.6.2 compatible and the mod packs can start rolling out. At least the one I make can.
