Doing a bit of spotlight-browsing, apparently Cal's 3.x MFFS did away with forcicium, but it's still all over the place in my worldgen? I'm running Unleashed 1.1.3, though the world was initially generated in the first Unleashed release. Is this just leftovers? Can I still use it, or is it destined for the incinerator?

For others that are confused, here's the spotlight that brought this to my attention:

I don't think I have minalien installed, however. Unless it's named funny and I just didn't notice it :p

As per the subject, I have MFFS_Cal_3.1.0.175.jar sitting around.

deprecated items are often not removed til after a few versions have passed, just in case other mods that are based off of the same parent mod uses the same resource. got to give them time to adapt to the new system. the stuff is still being generated in unleashed 1.1.4, but I expect that it won't be generated anymore in the version that we get for mc 1.6 and 1.7.
The reasons is simple. MFFS on mc1.5.2 still has to be backwards compatible with all the other 1.5.2 mods out there. some of which haven't been updated in a while.
I dunno if the unleashed pack is even going to survive the transition to mc 1.7 tho. so many changes to core mods involved,a s well as all the worldgen changes to minecraft itself.

There's no way to use forcicium with the new stuff, correct? If I've no intent to use the older MFFS then It's just garbage?
(we're still back in 1.5.x and you're concerned about 1.6 to 1.7? that's a bit far-ahead isn't it? Wasn't very long ago that 1.4.x was where everything was)

that is how minecraft modding just is. mod's are being developed for 1.6 now, and in some cases even being made for 1.7. updates to what we get back here in 1.5 is by necessity going to be backports at best. or just stuck at the version they currently are at, at worst. that is how it works when the platform the mods are made for is constantly updating.

Calclavia's MFFS does not and has never contained Forcicium. It's not that it was depreciated but that Calclavia's MFFS is a complete rewrite and redesign with completely different mechanics that is completely incompatible with older versions. If you find Forcicium in a world with Calclavia's MFFS installed, then you also have Minalien's MFFS Classic installed. Incidentally, MFFS Classic IS included in FTB Unleashed, so that's why you can find Forcicium in your Unleashed world.
