so I've setup a ME System in Hermitpack. Works great in my base and no lack of channels. I decided to build a few quarries a ways away from my base to mine to bedrock. So I made a solo dense cable from the controller setup directly to the quarry for a wireless setup and a crafting terminal. Besides wireless and the terminal, nothing else is connected to the dense cable. I have chunk loaders (I added to the pack) every so often down the cable to keep the chunks loaded the whole distance. But even right off the controller the cable says 0 of 32 channels. Am I missing something on how this works? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

When you say wireless setup, do you mean you have a separate ME system at the quarry or from your main ME controller you have a dense cable line run out x# of blocks to the quarry?

It's all part of the same system. The current setup, excluding the cable to the quarry, works perfect. For me personally, that's big since it's the biggest ME System I've set up. I've got terminals in a dozen rooms, connections to two mega farms with several farming stations (with inputs for seeds and hoes and outputs for seeds and crops), all powered by a reactor that makes at least twice the power needed. Just doesn't make sense that with all but one cable off the controllers having extra channels, that a dense cable that has zero connections till the end has no channels.

It is. Added in the chicken chunks mod with its dependencies and put loaders every so often down the line. Definitely know the chunk loaders are working since there are constant hordes of mobs spawning. I'm in the process of redoing all the cable from the controller now. Just to make sure I didn't miss placing a single piece.

Ok I think I figured out the issue. I originally ran rails the distance so I didn't have to walk. I ran the dense me cable next to the gravel the rails were on and used facades to cover it. Only thing I can figure is that the red stone torches on the facades were somehow bugging out the cable.
