I set up an two autocrafting towers: one with 6 interfaces surrounded by Molecular assemblers and one with 6 assemblers surrounded by interfaces. They were connected to a dense cable from the top and everything was fine but I just noticed that one column of interfaces decided not to work in the assembler centered tower. I have no idea why because I haven't done any cabling there in a long time and it definitely worked before. The strange thing is that if I click on any of them with the network tool they all show up like they are connected, but the smart cable at the top says it uses 0 channels instead of 6 and when I tried connecting them all from the back it said the same thing. Power definitely isn't an issue, and as I said channels shouldn't be one either, and I checked them anyway.

EDIT: Further research revealed, that it wasn't a column that stopped working, but 5 random interface in the tower. Still couldn't get them to work so I removed them and gave the patterns to working interfaces

Check you don't have multiple paths in your setup ie: cable loops. The channel system gets confused if a device(in your case interfaces) can be reached via 2 separate paths.

There was no sign of that, but I redid the cables anyway and then they worked again. I have no idea what the problem was, but at least it works now.
