Hello,

I've been trying to setup my ME system to always have a certain stock of pure Certus crystals. I have everything working (after a few major face palms) other than my export bus! I originally had this set up so the export bus was being controlled by a level emitter but when that wasn't working, I stripped the whole system down. Now all that's left is a P2P tunnel, an interface into a storage bus (creating a sub network), a crafting terminal (to debug) and my export bus. Here's what it looks like:

The export bus is set to pure Certus quartz. I know it should be exporting regular Certus for what I'm trying to do but I have over 1000 pure Certus in my system so it should be working.

The export bus should be putting items into the chest above but it's not. Any ideas?

I am trying to remember. In agrarian Skyes I wanted to have a stock of epic bacon. I setup the system to craft it and shove it in a barrel. It was a really basic AE system that was dedicated purely to crafting epic bacon and putting it in a barrel.

??? I think I had a export bus with a crafting card on their set to order epic bacon. The system would craft the bacon and fill the barrel with it. I never got near a full barrel. So I am not for sure what would have happened then. The crafting card would keep the system crafting the bacon to put in the barrel.

Might need a way to get it to appear in the AE system though. So possibly a storage bus with a crafting card?

I might take a look. I'm curious.

Edit:
I am not for sure what you mean by stock. If you mean there will be a crafting procces involved then I have found that putting a crafting card in the export bus and setting it to "Do not use stocked items". Then it will keep crafting the items set by the bus until the inventory is full. I think. it may just keep crafting them forever. need to go look.

Edit:
Looks like it stops crafting them once that container is full.

What I'm looking for is having items (such as Pure Certus quartz) to always be ready to use in my system, since they can't be auto-crafted quickly (they have to be tossed in the water for 30 seconds or so). So what I need is to always have 100 or so sitting in my ME system ready to use. This involves having the system recognize that there is less than 100 crystals (with something like a light emitter), telling the Steve's Factory Manager system to put seeds into the water and then bringing the seeds back into the system. Right now SFM takes dust and sand out of the chest, crafts it into seeds and places them into the water. When they have grown, it collects the crystals and puts them back into the same chest. All I need to do is either put the same amount of sand and dust into the same chest (once crystal levels in the ME system are low enough) and extract it when complete OR auto-craft the seeds beforehand, put seeds into the chest (when crystal levels are low) and then extract when complete.

Are these turning the right way? So the sub network actually can read the main storage?

Do the sub network have power?

Yes they do. I put a crafting terminal there just to make sure and I can access my system.

Place a inventory of any size down. Connect the AE system to it with a export bus containing a crafting card and set the export to the item type you want, might need to set it to not use what is in in the attached inventory. ?Also connect a storage bus on it set to a higher priority then any AE storage that can hold that item (might be able to set that to one way. So it can put items there, yet not take them out)? - This entire step might not be needed. Place a inventory down that with the amount of room in it for the item you want to keep a certain stock of. Connect a storage bus to it set to recognize only the item that you are stocking. use a extractor of any type to place items from the first inventory into the second inventory. The system will stop crafting when the first inventory has one of the crafted item in it.

This is thinking that the AE system knows how to craft the item you want to keep in stock.

Edit:
I find enough errors in this post. I correct as I find them.

Yes they do. I put a crafting terminal there just to make sure and I can access my system.
Just continuing with the "simple stupid things with all forget from time to time", is this the Export bus you were controlling with the level emitter? Does it still have a redstone card installed? Is it set to work when there's no signal in that case?

I don't use SFM, but I have seen some vids. What I would try is this: replace the SFM chest with an interface, set the interface to keep some sand and some certus quartz dust on hand, point a level emitter at a SFM redstone signal detector, set SFM to make a number of pure crystals when it gets a signal and then wait long enough for them to grow before checking for a redstone signal again.

I tend to set up my ME system to craft on demand. I usually only use an export bus and level emitter to get rid of extra material without getting rid of all of it.

Okay, if you're making a subnet this way, you need a storage bus from the main network onto an interface from the subnet.

Set your level emitter into the export bus, and be sure the bus has a redstone control card. Otherwise it won't be affected by the emitter.

As for why your export bus isn't working, I have no idea. You may just need to put a crafting card in it.

However, there's a much simpler and more compact way to keep a relatively small amount of items (up to eight stacks) stocked in AE2. Just place down an ME Interface and a Storage Bus facing each other, give the Interface a crafting card, and tell it to stock exactly the items you want stocked- in your case, a couple of stacks of pure certus crystals. The Storage Bus will give your network access to the items stored in the Interface, and the Interface is smart enough to not restock itself by pulling items out of its own inventory.

If you want to stock a much larger number of items- thousands, say- then you're better off using a Level Emitter facing an Export Bus with redstone and crafting cards facing an Interface.
