Manually Updating Forge: Will there be Conflicts?

We're all waiting for mystcraft on our server. We know you need a more updated version of forge for mystcraft to work. So, can we install an updated version of forge into the mindcrack pack, and bring in mystcraft without causing any compatibility issues? Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately it seems that if you wish to update forge, you have to rebuild the server .jar. That is where forge is in the server files. If you figure out how to do this, let me know. I've been unable to build it with all included directories like the .jar files they've provided.

I'm still looking for a way to do this as well.

Well, I've been able to unzip a .jar file, and replace forge in it with a new version. However to re jar it you need to know what class is main, and how to include all directories. Unfortunately I do not know this, so I can't rebuild the jar file.
