hey guys/girls

im making my first modpack its RPG style questing pack ( might add idk if this is the right section please move me if it needs moving )

im stuck on a few things that someone here might be able to help with ...

1. how do i make a quest reward a random item from the mod pack ( i seen sort of how to do it but from what i seen i would have to add every single item in game to do that )
is there a faster way.

2. my hud display is very different to other packs iv seen my quest tabs are on the left and i would love to move then up to the top if possible.

3. also is there a way to reward players for being online for a certain time like reward for ( 1 hour,2 hour,3 hour ... ETC )

im really new to this and can not find a single tutorial online i tried for hours so i would really love some help please if possible

my discord name is ( lordsoji #3624 ) if your able to help me further when you have time please feel free to add me as i would even love to make a modpack with someone to

I've sent a friend request on discord, I could probably help you figure out a few things.

You've set yourself a fairly high bar there for your first pack attempt. RPG packs with quests are some of the most complex, from a backend perspective, to create. And even harder to do them *well*. But to try to answer your questions as best as I can:

There are several ways to set up quests, depending on which method you want to use. There's an FTB Utils addon that does questing, there's Better Questing mod, there's Patchouli... lots of different ways. They all have their merits and their flaws, but to answer the second part of your question... none of them are 'fast', at least not in my experience.

There's a few mods that can be used to rearrange HUD display.

Some of the quest mods can use timers, I think? That might be used to reward for time played, but I think that's probably a very poor reward metric, unless you're just wanting to give someone a trophy or something.

I've done a few packs in my day, but most of 'em have been curated kitchen packs rather than what you're talking about. I'm currently working on a 'mediumcore' pack, but have run into substantial roadblocks along the way. LordPINE is an awesome guy, he'll be able to help you out.
