Request Major Mystcraft Confusion

So I'm trying to get into Mystcraft (1.7.10 version) for the purpose of getting ghast tears and possibly other purposes in the future, but as Mystcraft is known for, I am ABSOLUTELY AT A LOSS for what I'm doing. I understand all the basics with linking books but I do not understand pages or descriptive books or ages. I want to make a Hell biome but on the wiki it says I need nature, nurture, encourage, and unknown, just like all the biomes. How do I determine/ get this unknown page? And how do I make any pages at all? Everything beyond making linking books I don't know at all. Help? Thanks!

You can get more pages from either Villagers, Mystcraft buildings in villages, or finding Mystcraft libraries in the mystcraft ages you create. If you're playing the Direwolf20 pack there is an issue with ore generation that causes instability in all created ages, so use /myst-twi to disable the instability. I just create age books with no pages to randomly generate ages until I find one I can run around in and loot the libraries, use for quarrying, etc. Flat ages are great for libraries and quoting.

If you just want to get ghast tears, and you have the Twilight Forest mod, try finding Ur-Ghast towers. I think you can farm the baby urghasts for ghast tears... maybe.
