At some point last night my server crashed, but did not generate any error messages, it just hung and caused the console to become unresponsive to commands. I had to force close the server to make it stop.
Since there was no error messages logged, I had to use trial and error to narrow the issue down to one or more corrupt chunks. I was able to restore the affected region file from a backup and bring the server back into working order, but I still have no idea what caused the issue to begin with.
Having the server just hang due to a chunk issue without throwing any errors is distressing. Has anyone else seen anything like this before?
