I'm interested in converting my server to the FTB Magic Pack, but I'm wondering if there are any known additional mods that might be added to it in the near future (within the next couple months) that might change world generation. Redpower, for example. Can anyone tell me if the Magic Pack mod list is 'stable' in that regard? I'd rather wait a while rather than switch my players over to a new world now, then have to do it again within a couple months if something changes with worldgen in an update.
Thanks!

The mods being in the pack at the moment stay in there, and in case any additional mod adding worldgen gets included, you can always create a new mystcraft age for mining.

Well, Id tell you this, depending on what modpack you were using prior to this switch (main for example) there are a fair number missing from the Magic World pack to attempt to keep the theme of the pack.

Thus, if you try and use a map from the old pack, and add it to the new, at best things that no longer exist will disappear, one step down, conflicting ID's will replace the old items that were there (such as all IC2 macerators being replaced with crucibles.) At worse, the world will be corrupted.

One of the nice things though about TC3, is it WILL worldgen over existing worlds. Dunno about RP3 though or EE3 in the future.

Thanks for the replies. I think mystcraft ages are a good way to sidestep the issue if it comes up.

Riizu, I do not think the magic pack was ever intended to be a continue or even replacement for the actual FTB pack.
However, I do think there is an archive for older versions around somewhere, maybe just wait for a dev to answer, or even directly ask one.

Only problem is that works great for added mods. Not removing and adding, which is what the Magic World Pack would do. For example:

I have IC2, RP, BC, Twilight Forest.

I want to switch to Magic Pack, which has BC, Twilight Forest, TC3, EnderChests.

Ive now removed RP, IC2, and added 2 new ones, which presents plenty of ID conflict opportunities.

This is in comparision to just adding TC3 to my base Pack.

I know. The OP had mentioned wanting to switch to the Magic World Pack from his prior pack. Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm actually converting my server from Tekkit to the FTB Magic Pack and will be doing a full world reset at that point. :) Just worried about having to do future resets after that if worldgen changes.

Interesting. I was under the impression that there will end up being multiple maintained packs.

I would wait for the Ultimate Pack, or Direwolf's pack before converting any world your fond of.
