Magic Farm 2. Is there another way to Harvest mana beans without golems.

The server I play on has issues with golems not working, has been a problem since the server started.

I have given up on them ever working lol. I am guessing they are convinced it is a modpack bug and not something server related since the issue does not occur on their other servers running different modpacks.

So with golems taken out of the equation. What are the other ways to get the mana beans?

Since they have to be planted like a crop but placed on a log, will the other mods work on them. I know forestry can gather rubber, but since mana beans you actually have to plant something on the log and it has 3 growth stages will this work?

Sorry I am kind of a newb to most mods other than Thaumcraft. I plan on experimenting in creative but figured I would post here while I'm mucking around trying to figure something out with these other mods in the pack.

MFR Harvester and Planter can farm Mana Beans I think. Also, you could try and find a Thaumcraft Pech, capture him with a Safari Net and put it in an Autospawner, that's what I'm currently doing. They drop a bunch of armor/tools and mana beans :)

Don't think Magic World has MFR.

Ok after messing around abit, I think I can get the harvester and planter to work. The planter is semi derpy and takes a while to actually plant an an open space but eventually it will, whether that is normal or as a result of the mana beans i do not know. It also will only plant on one side of a log, the north side only.

The harvester wont treat the mana beans and silverwood as it would cocoa and junglewood. But it does harvest the beans when they grow if placed 3 blocks away with the fourth being the silverwood block. So one harvester will pick 3 beans in front of it.

A diamond upgraded planter, and about 24 harvesters and a farm about 18x18 square should be good enough.

The main goal here is to have a self sustaining Essence Producer powered by a wood farm.

Wood farm produces endless coal and saplings. coal produces endless Ignis for my furnaces and Potentia for my Harness also the coal goes to my distilleries. Saplings provide endless herba. Herba for a Lamp of Growth covering the mana bean farm. mana beans not only get harvested but auto distilled into essence.

The goal being always have at least 2 or 3 jars full of each essense. All extra stuff just gets voided or trash canned.

Is this really necessary... no, but half the stuff we do is not necessary in minecraft but we do it for fun lol.

I got it to work in my single player with the golems and became determined to do it on this server i joined. I am very tempted to give up on the server though.

But it is nice to know i can get it to work there, hopefully. Who knows maybe something else will be jacked up there.
